Trail Riding in Vic

Good evening from a newbie,

just purchased my first trail bike, XR250 ... I've been searching everywhere on the net for sites, maps etc on places to ride in Victoria, to no avail.

Can anyone in the know, point me in the right direction ... I'm after some good bush tracks, doesn't matter where, would love to do some camping with mates and the bikes.

You're right, there's not much on the 'net, but that's OK, some things
need to be done the old fashioned way, by getting out and riding.

If you're looking for some riding west of Melbourne, the Brisbane
ranges make a nice little loop, not too hard, close to town, but most
minor tracks are closed (it's a Nat Park). There's trails a plenty in
the Wombat State forest near Trentham, get yourself a decent map and
get lost for the day. It's all state forest so trails everywhere,
gravel and mud of varying condition.

Cheers, thanks for all the info...I was thinking the old fashioned way might
have to be used (not complaining at all, I love doing it all myself), just
thought I would see if there are any ideas to get me started.

So basically, with my bike rec registered, I can travel up to pretty much
any National Park and head for a ride (unless of course they specifically
say no bikes) ??

Will head out to the map shop tomorrow to get started.... can't wait to
start adventuring!!

I've no idea about rec registered bikes, try looking at
http://www.fohva.org.au and www.dsmra.asn.au/ for a whole swag of
riding info.
