Just heard on ABC radio that about 100 sets of traffic lights in
innner/north-eastern Melbourne have been affected by an unspeciified computer
glitch. The report didn't say what status the lights were in (red, green,
flashing orange) but warned of traffic chaos, particularly on
inbound/outbound portions of the Eastern Freeway.
Today's the day to ride like a motorcycle courier.

Hurrah! The XLV's electrical gremlin has gotten bored of its
shed exile and escaped through the battery tender!

Soz sharks, noon news says they've fixed the problem and exorcised the
gremlin. Turns out it was only 30 sets of lights affected, and it was a problem
with the way successive sets of traffic lights link with each other to
    smooth out traffic flow.
