    It's a group, that isn't moderated, therefore it's 'unmoderated'.
Yes, under the title, it clearly states: 'Not Moderated', 'tard.

    Only joking.

Of course, I'm not all that interested in the run-of-the-mill. Which
I imagine is slightly less tedious than "which is better: a mondeo or
    a vectra".

  4. Unmoderated doesn't mean "anything goes" you are struggling to
understand what you have written aren't you?

Not much point trying help a total tool like you.

Unmoderated means there isn't a designated hierachy, whereby a chosen few
can deem what is, and what isn't fit for general consumption, and ban / bar
/ block and berate, as they see fit.

And yes, sometimes it *might* be a good thing for a place like this, but
only if it isn't policed by miserable 'tards not unlike yourself.
    'Help'?

    ROTFL.

Grandad, things have moved on since the, ahem, 'glory days' of you and Trev,
and even then once the NG was in full flight, the majority didn't stick
    rigidly to its charter.

That's the point you appear not to be able to grasp - you're still quoting
the original charter set out for the group in its inception, which, if it
were still adhered to, 99% of the posters, including yourself, would fall
    foul of.

Are you therefore suggesting the charter be adhered to, to the letter... or
are you going to STFU whinging just because you don't happen to like all of
the content, all of the time?

Get with the now; the FAQ is what has, in your prior long absence from the
group, been adopted as the ground rules for what is and what isn't generally
expected of the posters of the group.

*That* is what *you* don't appear to be able to grasp, and more's the pity
because as a result, I am sure you'll continue to bore the tits off of
others with your relentless whinging about others who you could quite easily
killfile and be done with, and threads you could quite easily skip if they
    don't interest you...

  7. It's not the word unmoderated that I'm trying to explain to you. Have
you always had this problem with understanding or is it just since the
    elective lobotomy?
You don't even understand the point of a FAQ do you? Try looking up
what FAQ means eh. You might find it doubles your knowledge base.
Look it's very simple (like you are appearing to be). The reason there
are lots and lots of different newsgroups isn't because it's nice to
have lots of them. Can you have a gues what the reason is? While
you're at it, would you like to try and have a guess at why they all
have funny names with words like 'motorcyles' 'cars' 'Xbox' or
    'support' in them?

You're actually getting very dull now, so unless you can be more
amusing, or make sense, don't bother replying old chap.

Nice get out clause - fact is, you're ignoring the fact that *everyone* who
posts here as a regular, is guilty of posting OT stuff, which could be
posted to other groups - you just appear to have a very vocal bee in your
    bonnet about the car stuff.

    In your own words, 'fascist'.

  9. Mostly because it's so fucking dull and well served in (what for the
sake of arguement I shall call) other newsgroups devoted to the topic.
I think you'll find that was a word before I was even born.

As a regular poster mentioned, ot posts are allowed for regular posters
because they would have to move to a lot of different newsgroups when
they where talking together, plus motorbike only stuff would get
    boring.
Has got a point in a funny way.
Especially if you think of this group being a form of community.
If someone is going to post regularly about a specific subject, then
they should take it to another group.
It is where the amount of posts warrant moving to another group is the
    hard part.

Indeed... so given that most of the posts that caused the irritation in
these recent cases emanated from regulars, I can't see why the point was
really raised in the first place.

That's why I've bothered to argue the toss about something, which let's face
it, in the great scheme of things, shouldn't have been raised as aggresively
or pointedly at others, as it has.

    *sigh*

I just wish there was more tolerance from some corners, that's all - IMHO,
the car posts, cookery posts, IT related posts, DSTIUTA posts, *whatever*
isn't OT posts... they're there if you want to read them, and there to
ignore if you don't - if they're not prefixed 'OT', then that is a valid
issue, but other than that, they're overall, part of what makes UKRM better
than it would be if it stuck rigidly to its charter, and adopted moderation
as a means to the selfish end.

That's the point I've been trying to make, albeit not quite as clearly as I
should have done to start with.
But most do, most of the time... that's a key element in all of this.

So either the group as a whole works actively towards sticking rigidly to
the charter... or we continue to accept for the group that it is; one that
is rich in diversity, some of it good, some of it bad, all of it relevant to
the very fabric of what is 'UKRM'.

To you, and others including myself... what is dull to you, is interesting
to another; UKRM is here to serve the majority, not pander to individuals
specific tastes - getting there yet?

I do see your point, honestly... I just think what you're wishing for are
changes that would ruin the group overall.

Maybe those threads should just be cross posted.

Perhaps demon.local would like a copy too, they're a sociable bunch.

'There is...', as you know, '...no clique'

And don't capitalise it, as it might, (if it existed), take offence.

A tank bag so far and a 70 mile round trip to Ilford to get it.

I am only in for lunch, I am going back out in a bit to buy stuff to
fill it and use up the rest of the petrol in the tank before it gets to
old to be any use. Them carcinogenic volatile Easters are evaporating
