OK, I'm thinking of trading both bikes for a new K5
so what should I expect to have to cough up in addition to my sacrifice

    R1 is X-reg Yr 2000 15k miles Red/White/Black, very nice condition, full
service Hist, mot to Jan 06 and tyres are good.
BBird is V-Reg 15k miles candy red, also very good cond, full givi pannier
set, mot to April 06, full service hist, tyres are good also.
Both have extras, end cans, screens, grips etc, but I have all the originals
to put both back to stock if required.
My guess private sale £ 3,750 for R1 and £ 3,950 for BBird
So would I be far off thinking both bikes and a grand for a new K5 ?

    yes, except...

The dealer might not want to go for such a deal (or he may knock the
prices down quite a bit). He's only getting a small amount of wedge
out of you (relatively speaking), and is left with two bikes to sell
    to get a return.

I think you'd be in a far better position if you sold one privately,
and could go to the dealer with a single p-ex and around 5k in your
    pocket.

But, hey, what do I know?

  3. dealers are having problems shifting bikes at the moment so the chances of
him taking two of you for anywhere near those prices is remote

    try selling privately

    quite a lot actually
Good point, which would give the best return from a dealer?
Theres a blackbird at Portsmouth M/C's been there all year
but its so overpriced £ 5,600 for a non fuel inj model, so no wonder thay
    havn't sold it.

As you've described them, I don't think most dealers would mind either
way - they're both sort after models.
