I'm up for one in February. Any recommendations for a track near(ish)
    to N.London, that'd be good for both a ZX7R and a RGV250?

The general plan is to book some time off mid-Feb, then see what the
weather's like and book the trackday the day before, dependant on
    weather.

Anyone else interested, or is the thought of doing a trackday when it
might snow[1] making your scrotums retract into your pathetic
    carcasses?

[1] my first ever track day at Lydden Hill, it was snowing on my first
    time out...good clean family fun.

I might be up for a couple of trackdays towards the end of March.

    Can I use that 7R?

obviously. And the RGV if you want it.

I was thinking that the 7R is road legal, so I could ride it to the
track. When I ultimately move back to the UK, I'm going to buy a van,
but it seems a little extravagant for a weekend's use.

well, I'm intending to hire a van for a day or two, and take both
bikes. I really dislike riding home after a trackday.

Anyway, enough of this, I'm off to the pub for Sunday lunch. I may be
    some time.

Fancy doing a trackday in late March, then? We'll split the cost of
    the van.
    I've got a thirst you wouldn't believe.

deffo - I'll pay for the van, no worries.
I've tried to add up what I've had to drink since earlier, and it comes
to something like 3 double Jack Daniels, 2 pints of Guinness, and about
2 bottles of Chardonnay. Oh, and about a 1/4 bottle of Asbach. But tghe
sums can't be right, as I feel fairly sober...

I'll get the five pints of Guinness for lunch, then.
I really, really don't see the appeal of Jack Daniel's. People who
drink it are so often fashion-victims (I don't mean you).

this might appear twice. I hate google. Anyway, I do like bourbon -
though Maker's Mark is my preference. I know what you mean about JD,
but the pub I was in had it on special - 2.25 for a double.

It's a very cheap McPub, but the level of cheapness makes it acceptable
i.e. pints are around the 1.50ukp mark, some bottled beer is a pound,
and a bottle of Chardonnay is 4.95. You can also be assured of getting
a nice comfy sofa on a Sunday lunchtime.

I was in a pub[1] where double Jack Daniels were on special offer. I do
like the occasional bourbon, but I vastly prefer Maker's Mark to JD. I
suppose any bourbon drinking is an affectation, but then, what isn't?

[1] The George in Enfield Town - basically a McPub, but very cheap
(e.g. pints are about 1.50ukp, bottles of, say, Carlsberg are a pound,
    and a /bottle/ of Jacob's Creek is 4.95).

I drink it because I actually like the taste.
In my case, it's not possible. I wouldn't know fashion if it walked up
and poked me in the eye. Also, I appear to suffer from an absence of
any style and taste, whatsoever. ;-)

    It hates you.
    Maybe I'm myopic, but when I want a beer, I only ever want a Guinness;
when I want white wine, I only ever want champagne; when I want red
wine, I only ever want Pomerol; when I want a spirit, I only ever
    want Tanqueray 10.
Pencil me in for late March.

The only one I've found that I actually enjoy is Four Roses, Single
Barral (==single malt?). Smooooth, it is; guaranteed to get your
    eyesight back within 48 hours.

apparently. I'm not running anything on port 80 on my dev machine at
the moment, so when I rebuild it, I might run a port forwarder.
Alterenatively I might just submit a TOR for the business case for
    access to port 110.
    Guinness;

That's usually the case with me too; every time I order a pint of
something else, I regret it before I'm 1/3 of the way through it.
Well now - I don't agree with this one; champagne and a 1/2 way decent
white (Chablis, say) are two different drinks.
I've gone off red wine in general, recently. Don't know why.
that's a problem in most bars in the UK, mind.
not a problem. As I mentioned to Angie, the fact that the pub doesn't
really have an atmosphere isn't a problem if you take your own.

We could pop up the pub in the afternoon, and back to mine for a
    home-made curry if you like.

I don't think I've even heard of it, never mind tried it. I'll look out
for it. This isn't intended as a spelling flame, but is it really
    "Barral"?

No, my typing os shit this morning, it's barrel. Maybe it's not
available in the UK - I've only seen it in France.

the reason I asked the question is that I thought there was at least
the possibility that it was some attempt by the makers to appear
    olde-timey or something.
    it is:

    http://www.liquors.me.uk/en-gb/dept_254.html
not too expensive either - ta for the tip.

30 Euros! Bloody hell. I mean, I hate to go on about how cheap booze
is over here, but I'm sure it's less than half that over here. I'll
see if I can persuade Adie to lug a bottle over for you, if you
    like...
