Right then, who is up for some trackdays this year?

I'll be booking up for Cadwell, Brands, Snett, Donington and Oulton
once we get confirmed dates, so that'll give plenty of notice if anyone
wants to tag along and have a play. Probably be kicking off with
either Snett or Brands in mid-March.

    What sayeth thou?

Yeah, I might have a go.

Would my ratbike make it past scrutineering?

    It has a MOT

I've got a voucher for Donington (thank you Father Christmas), but I
can't remember which company it's with.

I'll probably get along to Croft once or twice as well (I know, it's Oop
North, but it's close to me and I like it).

I'm also waiting on Darley Moor releasing their dates, as it's very
    convenient for The Pub.

A lot of circuits are, these days - they have to be.
    <waves>

That's assuming you mean a decibel, or Sound Pressure Level meter.

Yes, rather than a decimater which will obliterate my bike ;-)

    Yes.

Don't know how or where I'll manage it, though.

Well I've got 2.5 bikes and a 2-bike trailer, so all you'll have
to do is turn up in your riding kit and you've got the choice
of the 748 or the 600/620 hybrid.

    It's still cold in March.

The other point is that I'm having a weeks worth of trackdays on the
    IoM.

I think the reason you don't get scrutineered at trackdays is that a
scrutineered bike that fails horribly and causes a serious injury
might lead to a claim that it should have been noticed by the
    organisers.

I have... some more than that. Exactly how many momentarily escapes me.
Four at my Dad's place. Some others in other places.
    This is the tough part.
This is appealing, though. Good lad!

I've found somewhere knocking out *brand new* GSXR1000 K3's, which sort
of appeals, but at the same time I reckon I'll get a decent bike for a
lot less cash if I go for a used one.

Then the silly voice says Ducati.

    And back to Square 1.

I'm not lucky (or rich) enough to have a choice of bikes. I am lucky
    enough to be taking a 10R though so I don't give a ****. I'm giving
serious consideration to having a night off the beer and getting up at
first light for a flyer but I know it'll never happen.

Why buy a K3? For sure they're good bikes but they're also a bit old
now. By the time you've had it two years the bike'll effectively be a
five year old model and very old hat. Buy a K5 or a K6 and get
something easier to ride fast that'll probably hold it's price better.
I know what you mean but BHP wins the arguement for me.
Just buy a bike and get on with it.

The K3 is a good couple of grand cheaper, and a better tourer though.
I'm ruling out a lot of bikes because they'd be crap with panniers,
particualrly anything with an underseat exhaust. I don;t want to make
    trips to europe a hassle...

If I found a cheap F model 9R it could be the best bet for me.
I can see that too, it's not a serious consideration anyhow, the real
deal breaker is the nearest dealership is in Coventry these days,
nothing is worth going to Coventry for..
    It's on 'the list'.

Good enough to make me want to do a flying lap or bad enough to be
willing to leave it alone for a night? I can always drink gin and
    tonic if the beer's crap.
