I tried to get a price for that online, and it kept coming up with
"unavailable". I've just tried it again, same result. Looks like it might
have to be the choob again.

£278 rtn with 2 berth cabin Portsmouth - Caen

P&O - after popup warnings about ongoing negotiations came up with:
"Sorry, there is no space available on the sailing that you have
selected. Please select an alternative sailing"

    Hmm, I see trouble ahead.

I've fixed the oil leak and it now has an exhaust of sorts. Now for some
tyres with tread; an MOT and <gasp> some tax.

    http://www.poferries.com seems to work

Gave me an overnight price in May of £139.50, cabin extra.

There was a popup box about negotiations with Britanny Ferries which might
    affect the service.

As you are going east a Dover crossing and an extra night in a hotel is
    bound to be cheaper.

What does it give you for a night crossing: Out on the 15/7 return 17/7?

For a Friday night in the middle of July, I guess it's booked solid.
Provided nothing goes to ratshit in the intervening, I plan on taking the
tractor. A Zen-like 80Km/h bimble down the motorway would see me in
Folkestone for a bit of tunnelling, and a couple or three hours on the other
side should get me to Cambrai for the night. Quite honestly, the format of
2004's outing approached the ideal for me. Okay, 200 miles of motorway on
this side is a bit of a fag, but such is life.

sweller emerged from their own little world to say
15/7 crossing is fully booked already! It's only offering daytime crossings
    on the Friday & Saturday.

    With a daytime out and a night back it's £141 plus 70 quid for a 2 berth
    cabin on the return.

  16. I *think* sidecar outfits get charged the car rate on ferries and the
    tunnel, but ICBW.

If you fancy breaking your journey in London, you're more than
welcome. I could put the KH500 in the chair, and ride pillion.

Not unless the KH weighs about three stone.

Appreciated, but I'd rather just do the straight run, and stay well clear of
the Great Wen. I'll be taking it pretty easy, and probably stopping at
Membury, Reading, Hackett Lane, Maidstone etc to check the oil and change my
    incontinence pads.

    Fairy Knuff.

I've just acquired permission from my social secretary, so all I have
to do now is decide on which velocipede to drag into combat.

    GL: most sensible option.
CBR: most inappropriate, and still rather sensible.
KH: most appropriate, and least sensible.
    TS: most unlikely.

The invites have already gone out. I was totally fair. I didn't
    invite anyone from ukrm[1].

Stag do has yet to be decided though.
