At this stage, it will be either very late Feb or Early March 06, I have 3
    weeks holiday at this time.
I originally applied for this time off as I intended to ride the RTA big
ride (bicycle) but have since bought a motorcycle and this has taken
    priority (of course haha).
I'm hoping to do a week's mini tour up north in late Nov up to Bundarra near
Inverell then Grafton where the Parents live, this will give me an idea of
some of the do's and don'ts, why's and what fors of motorcycle touring and
will help me condition myself to it.
As I explained in my earlier posts, I'm new at this and Tassie will be the
first tour I will do to somewhere I haven't experienced before.
My Bike is a Kawasaki ER-5, 500cc(naked), only 7 months old. It'll do the
distance with no problems, but I won't be screaming down the Hwy's doing
    160+. When I tour..I wanna see stuff!!

I intend on taking the Boat from Sydney to Tassie then do the ride around,
but I have yet to decide whether to return via the Sydney boat or Melb boat
and ride up the coast road. Should be quite good around mid March.Or I could
just return via the Sydney Boat and leave the coast road for a more relaxed
stint another time. I'm kinda leaning towards the Sydney boat both ways and
just relax over a few beers on the way home. It'll cost somewhere around $600
return just for the boat with bike and accommodation.
I've gotta buy my self some decent touring gear.Although I have a leather
jacket for my local rides, I'll probably end up getting a full set of
    DryRiders or something like that.
Anyway Roc, I'm still working on it, if you're interested let me know.

    cheers
