Totally OT

Heading up Mt Wellington for a Shrooms doof on Friday night and
remember doing the same thing a year ago and spotting a YZF750 parked
on the Huon lookout. It was still there the next day. This is 1000ft
short of the Springs we were all getting shitfaced. So last weekend,
coming down off the mountain and I'm still wondering who rode a YZF750
in the total fog 3000ft up Mt Wellington and left the bike there (it
was still there when I convinced a taxi to be a total idiot at 9am on
a Saturday and come and get me and a couple of my friends).

I had totally forgotten about this until heading down there and
thought it was pretty outrageous bike ride. Mid-winter up Mt
Wellington with a crew of drug-crazed doof bunnies not far off where
he reached. Nice work. Wish I had taken a photo.

Anyway, this was a "set up a 6kW generator and a **** off big PA at
the Springs and get shitfaced" type affair.

One of the DJs was a prick and announced at 2am that there had been
noise complaints and the police were on the way to shut us down. Took
me a little while to realise that at 3000ft up a mountain, this was
highly unlikely and was in fact a joke.

Cops would have had a field day if they had turned up though . . .

Rock Cabin is on the Lenah Valley Track about the same elevation as
Springs. Many a good night there in the seventies.
