I have a Samsung R40 laptop, not particularly fast for today, but has
been (still is) reliable and working, with all the recovery stuff etc,
    specs as here ..

Only difference I can see is that I have a 100G Hard Drive and 1.37G
    ram.

However, I need a Netbook, can't afford a new one and wondered if
anyone who has a decent (comparable spec) netbook fancied a swap for a
    Laptop.

Definitely need one to take MS XP for the apps I want to run (Memory
map) and ideally I want Bluetooth on the netbook, much of the rest is
immaterial ... though I do like the NC10 Samsung ..
    http://preview.tinyurl.com/y9d6wm2 ... ;)

If anyone has a cheap netbook who doesn't want a swap but wants to sell
cheaply I'd also be interested ...

Email addy is mine and working ... :)

Why not stick the Samsung on ebay and once sold you should be able to
pick up a 901 eee pc for less than a ton.

I've already got an older laptop on ebay, bought, paid for and
delivered, but no feedback yet or comms from buyer. Not worrying yet,
    but ...

  8. Honestly?
There's a couple of places I wouldn't sell a latpto, hombie bone, etc
and ebaugum is one of them.

Not sure if it could run XP[lite] but it's only 70 of your pounds.

It sounds to me like he wants something that's basically a laptop in a
netbook format... and that isn't that, really

'128mb of RAM'... it'll be painful, even when running Win CE, for
anything other than the most basic of apps.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you 'need' a netbook rather than a
    laptop?

    Aye, that makes a difference.

However... I've used a Samsung N130 with 2GB in it, and found that
music playing via Win Media Player would stutter now and again when
you were opening new websites etc.

Nice looking machine... decent keyboard etc, but no real substitute
for a 'proper' laptop if my experience is anything to go by in this
    respect.

On the other side of the coin, I can see why one would be a lot more
useful in terms of portability if I ended commuting by train again.

  13. I've got an NB100 and the only thing annoying about it is a
non-backlit keyboard. It runs damn fine. I don't know how the 200 is
configured, but found it ran even better once I did a fresh install of
XP on it that didn't have the overheads that Toshiba delivered with
    their XP install.

OK, probably not a 'need', but ... I've been using the laptop in the
Landrover, strapped to the passenger seat, for various map-reading
duties when green-laning and things .. doesn't work well and the laptop
screen is too large (and laptop too heavy) to mount differently. I
reckon I could make or buy a cheap mount for a netbook that would make
it both safer and easier to use.

I've also started to use the train regularly and using the laptop is a
bit cumbersome, I guess a netboook might be easier to transport and use
    and I'd like to try.

Main trouble is we're seriously skint, so buying one isn't an option
right now, hence why I offered a swap. Not worried if no-one wants to,
I'll just carry on regardless .. but you never know without asking .. ;)
