Totally OT Music...........

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Mick Whittingham, Feb 26, 2004.

  1. Just been digging out some reel to reel stuff. Late 60's onwards.
It's was started by a comment on the radio in the car by Mick Jagger
saying the only cover of a Stones record that was done better than them
    was Satisfaction by Herbie Mann.

    And I've found it!
And a shed load of music I haven't listened to for years.
    I've been sampling:
    Deep Purple
    Led Zep
    Blue Oyster
    Thin Lizzy
    AWB
    Moody Blues
    Chicago
    Blood Sweat and Tears
    Pink Floyd
    Arlo Guthrie

The above was not in order of preference, just how the tapes came out.
Think I'll go up the pub now!

Excellent. I was just getting bored with Led Zeppelin this afternoon,
so I followed your link. They're currently playing Ozone Baby!

I've just looked for (and now cannot find) my copy of "Alice's
Restaurant". If *only* I had an MP3 of it...

If you haven't then you should make efforts to see the film. It pretty
much explains the context that the whole album was set in.

I imaging it's public showing in the USA would be banned today.

Indeed yes. All the more so that a couple of years ago there weren't
that many around here who knew it.

I've seen it, several times. Quaint and very fixed in its time.

And, yes I can see your point about it being banned in the US. Thing is
I don't think they'd ban it though, maybe just frown a bit.
