It's one of those things you have on the side of your mansion, isn't it?

Relative term. It's scarce if you live on a disability pension for instance.

The first is expensive by the way it is produced, like Ferrari's, the latter
is another point of fact in my argument - like petrol.

No. I'm saying that you can reduce the impact of cars on the
environment by means other than by making them more environmentally
friendly - specifically, by using them less.
Yes. The roads would be 20x as crowded.
Only if it's by a flintlock.

Well the AC/DC song was "Beating about the Bush" whereas the phrase is
    "Beating around the Bush" IIRC.

Legislation also drives research you know...

Check out the California, New York and Massachusetts legislation on Zero
Emission Vehicles. I can't remember the exact wording but it's something
like 10% of all new cars must be zero[1] emission vehicles. Plus they are
letting ZEVs into car pool lanes with single occupants to encourage takeup
by yuppies who want to beat queues.

If you were a car manufacturer and you knew your competitors were working on
    this, would you:

    a) Not sell any cars in those states.
    b) Do your *own* research and compete.
    c) Pool your research and all manufacturers benefit.

I don't think that shareholders of any car company are going to let a)
    happen are they?

    [1] Or extremely low

  12. Well yes but somehow I just don't think I could carry that off somehow.
It would be nice to be able to borrow some of your good character traits
    for a while though.

****. Ah well suppose I should stop relying on my memory, it had to
come to this sooner or later I suppose.

Guess my teeth will go next.

Anyway I thought I'd be nice today as it's my birthday - and you've all
    forgotten *again*
