could be. It's been a long time since I listened to any Tori Amos, but
I have this funny memory of it being a 12" vinyl EP.

I could easily be confusing it with something vastly different but
still featuring a barking female singer... Cocteau Twins maybe, or Poly
    Styrene

    Very sure, thanks.
If you go to the miscellaneous section on that site and then click on "Y
Kant Tori Read" you'll see that album came out in 1988 - 4 years before
    Little Earthquakes.

Quite so. When I saw her at Glasto, she looked into the crowd with
those peircing green eyes, and I swear a shiver went down the back of
every bloke. For some it was fear, for others it was sexual
attraction. For me at least, it was both.

  6. And which folk singer did she accompany, in a song called "Carlotte
    Corday"?

I have it here in Winamp. I've also got a video of her doing "The Big
Picture". It's so bad, it's good.
This was in her "rock chick" phase, way before Cornflake Girl.

I've heard the video is worth seeing. Is it small enough to e-mail?
"Cornflake Girl" is from her 2nd album, "Under the Pink", so a lot of stuff
is before it, including most of the stuff that made her famous in the first
place; "Me and a gun"; "Little Earthquakes"; "Silent all these years" etc.

Er, no. It's 46.8 Mb, my ISP would have a fit if I tried to email that.
But you're in luck, there is a 10Mb version to download at:
http://www.hereinmyhead.com/videos/index.html along with all sorts of
    other videos.

Troo, but I think most people remember her initially from CFG.

Somewhere here I've got Tori Amos and Bjork, um, singing "wrapped around
    your finger" by the Police.

"Aquired taste" I think the term is.

I swear she looked right at me[1] when I saw her live in concert - front row
in a theatre which must've put us, oh I dunno, 15ft away. In retrospect I
wish I'd winked. What I actually did was "look gormless".

Amazing live too. Especially "Precious Things".

[1] I expect everyone in the first 2 rows were convinced of the same thing,
    but they're wrong.
