*** Warning - may contain self indulgent newbie droppings. ***

Come Monday, my riding is unrecognisable[1].

Much slower in town - I'm holding back on those wild 20 car overtakes
down the central hatching at 50 in a 30.

Much faster out of town - hitting 85 where previously would have done
    60.

And the cornering has warped into another galaxy! Instead of braking
hard into the bend then fumbling my way out, I'm slowing much earlier
(often relying on engine braking only) and smoothly powering through
the bend two gears lower. I knew all the theory, but having two fast
riders show me how just made something click.

Thanks, plaudits and general applause to:

Dave Corden - what a sterling bloke. Every word that I have read about
him rings true. Patient, unflappable, and very, very good. Thanks for
being willing to take me on. I will feel the force!

Statto - for being the perfect host. Particularly when the "guest" is
some self-invited tosser off the internet. I'm in your debt, mate!

Jackie - for not dragging me down the pub and getting me ratted. I
appreciate it. (I was shattered enough as it was doing nearly 600 miles
    in 2 days.)

Dan - cheers for arranging the weekends, and for organising people.
    Nice one!

Brecon, Abergavenny, Haye-on-Wye, Cirencester, Hungerford, Salisbury
Plain - for being surrounded by such brilliant biking roads. Hitting
the ton for the first time ever whilst swooping across the Vale of
White Horse using only countersteering was unforgettable.

    <fx: McArthur> I shall return. [2] </McA>

    [1] To me anyway.
    [2] With derestricted bike.

If only you knew the rash promises I'd made to get away for the weekend!

It's good, isn't it? I've been riding years and knew the theory, I
just needed to know when and where to apply it. Now I've got the CBR I
need to re-learn certain things though, cos the bike has engine braking
unlike the ZXR, but also is a bit longer and heavier and not as easy to
chuck around. The acceleration is nice though )
<phew> She didn't do the same to you as she did to our resident Aussie
    Not long now for me..

    I will feel the force!

Isn't this illegal in most counties?
