when deciding which bike to buy next, don't make up your mind about
what you want, and make several announcements on a public newsgroup
about said decision without actually having sat on an example of said
    bike.

There's something seriously wrong with the position of the bars on a
Ducati Monster. Either that or my arms are a funny length (though I've
never noticed this on any other bike).

I have a backup plan, though I'm not going to say.

  3. Uhoh, I've spent the last few days idling looking at S4 prices, maybe
I'd better actually get off my arse and find a dealer.

  6. It's not for sale, I sold my B6 recently, so I have a space in the
    garage.

However - if somebody wanted to prise the RD out of my grubby paws I'd
not take anything less than 1500 quid.

  7. In uk.rec.motorcycles, darsy amazed us all with this pearl of wisdom:
    It's a bike for lesbians.

Having sat on most of the Ducatis at the bike show, I found none of them
fitted me at all. Dunno who they're designed for but anybody that finds
they fit *must* be a weird shape.

I thought this too, hence I picked the SS over the Monster
when going for the 600 racebike. I think it improves if you
put flat(ter) bars and rearsets on it though - maybe finding
someone who has one would be worth a try?
