Two out of three, maybe, anyway...

For which I don't pay any more than 40 quid a month for the private
useage of a reliable comfy tool of work. Good for 112mph, which is
enough to get me banned, so I'm happy.

I'm sorry Jack, what old pile are you driving and paying all the bills
    on now?

  3. I can picture the scene of bucolic splendour in which you live now.

  4. Good grief... Alfa don't make medical devices like pacemakers do they?

You obviously haven't read my comments elsewhere about where and when
car posts should be made. I'll leave the insults to Simes, he does them
    so much better than I.

Oh yeah, they're fine really. You have to have your chest opened up so
they can check the dashpots every 1000 beats. but my god... The *noise*.

They're a real "beater's" pacemaker. Not for your average cardiac
patient, but the "Alfisti" won't have anything else. You just ask them.

You might have to wait a while, whilst they get enough breath for a
    reply, but they'll tell you.

  11. I don't suppose they are available on the NHS - likely to be a bit
dearer than you run of the mill pacemaker that is blindingly fast but
    dull?

I think not... you're quoting the figures for the 90bhp TDI - the SDI books
at 99mph, 0-60 in 16 something, and less economy to boot.

Still, it's group 4 vs group 8... which is always handy when you've got a
    few points on your licence.

Well, no. But the true cognoscenti are happy to stump up a bit of a
premium for the "Alfa Pacemaker Experience". True cardiac bliss: if a
    little brief.

    Same as my Golf, really.

I tend to use the BMW when I'm doing family stuff like shopping, and the
bike when I don't need to cart the sprogs and Doris around.
I wouldn't let the taxman hear you say that... ;-)

They've become very arsey in recent years with regards to private mileage,
if they *think* (not even know), they can smell a rat.

Trust me, they made the lives of the main partners of the last place I
worked, very stressful at one point, with regards to how much they wanted to
know about the use of company owned vehicles, miles covered etc.

It didn't help that the boss was a puritan when it came to observing the
rules and regs of HM cash collectors.
Well even if I didn't need the car for work, or for transporting the family,
or going shopping in, or whatever, I'd still have one... although it would
probably be something a bit more lairy, like a 200SX. :)

Yeah well, the other side of the coin is I tend be, on the whole, pulling in
enough money as a result to justify the relative expense... all of which
    gets set against my tax.

Which is why I'm paying cash for a nice ikkle Mk4 Golf TDI next month...

If it were up to me we'd not live in town, in all seriousness.

Something I intend to rectify in the next few years, anyway.
