Top Gear and the Peel car

  1. Helen was drooling at it, and then came over all superior, because the
Peel doesn't have reverse gear, and the Ape does.....

Sucking his keyboard for inspiration, shaun doherty typed:
I liked the BBC seminar - a wonderful green-platitude-laden chairperson,
attendees of every colour and disability, plus copies of the Grauniad on the
    table. Not subtle, but funny.

I was simply laughing like a drain while thinking "that's a fucking
funny route he's taking round TC"

Having seen Clarkson on IQ last week, the thought that he could *actually*
    be funny is laughable.

He was absolutely stomped on by the IQ regulars and looked like a fish out
of water. He almost sighed with relief when the programme came to an end.

The same is true of *loads* of people who (unlike Clarkson) claim to be
proper comedians. IQ, Whose Line is it Anyway, HIGNFY, Buzzcocks etc
all show who can be spontaneously funny rather than having to think
    about it. It's a very specific ability, & I don't think it
automatically makes you unfunny if you can't do it. Take Richard Curtis
for example - would he be suddenly considered incapable of being funny
if he couldn't 'perform' on a comedy panel quiz?

Can I just clarify - we are talking aboput QI here? The TV show hosted
by Steven Fry? If so then yes, he's been on it before.
