Sad .. Sad.. The opening news story on channel five in Dallas, this
morning.. was to report the crash and death of another motorcyclist..

According to the report, the police were at the scene of an automobile
accident, which was minor.. All of a sudden a flash went by them .. The
brief glimpse was enough to assure the officers that this dude was on a
    motorcycle and breaking sound barriers..

They gave chase and couldn't catch him until he attempted to make the
transition from 287 to IH-35.. As he entered the exchange ramp, he was
speeding so fast that he couldn't make the sweeping curve.. He swept several
feet of the concrete barrier, then the motorcycle became airborne, flew over
the barrier into the path of oncoming traffic.. After a pickup finished up
the wreck, by running over him and the bike, he was pronounced dead at the
    scene..

It should be interesting to note.. that courageous representative of the
motorcyclist community was wearing a full face helmet and all the
    appropriate armored gear..

A representative of one of our leading safety gear manufacturers was
overheard making the comment. "If that truck hadn't hit him, our protective
safetywear would surely have saved his life.".. Let this be a lesson to
    you..
