Listed my XDA Orbit with TomTom installed on ebay last week. Ebay have
just pulled the auction as TomTom complained about breach of copyright.
What a complete bunch of cunts. FE,FERITE.

was it a legit TomTom installation, complete with documented licence
    no.?

if so, just ask them what the problem was with the auction.

Yes, all registered with map updates (until around a year ago) etc.
I know what the problem is - they assume that anyone trying to sell
something with their software on is a thief, & prosecute & convict you
without bothering to check if it's legal.

I'll list it again in a few days, & point out the reason I'm selling is
because the TomTom software screwed up & lost all my painstakingly
entered routes on the first day of a European trip (which is true), so
I bought a Garmin instead which has been utterly wonderful.

have you considered just giving their customer services department a
    bell, rather than being petty?

It seems to be that they've cost you time and inconvenience (and time is
money). An invoice to their registered office, followed by a claim in
the Small Claims Court when they don't pay it might make them ponder the
    matter,

The is a process to appeal the decision at the bottom of this page:
    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/questions/vero-ended-item.html

Dunno if it'll work or not.

ICBW, but I wouldn't mind betting if you check the small print of the
TomTom license agreement that it will say something along the lines of
    it being non-transferable.

They say 'We have a good-faith belief...' which no doubt is some woolly
legalise to protect themselves from that.

Similar happened to a friend who won some SW in a raffle, can't recall
what it was now but a retail price of around £600 IIRC. Had the Ebay
listing pulled when he tried to sell it on even though the box was
    unopened and still shrink wrapped.

Not sure that's a brilliant sales strategy.

  16. Bollox to that. Being petty, particularly if you can get your status
upgraded to obnoxious petty little shite in their eyes is the only way to
    be.
