Because it is quite likely that I will call my boss a fuckwit and,
rather vehemently, point out that the cock-up that has afflicted our
latest issue is of his, and nobody but his, making.

Enough is enough.

I had 3 days off when I lost my dad last year.

 

Well I used to live in a cardboard box in the middle of a motorway.

 

Eh? - If you look at most company policies, you'll find that you get
around a max. of 4 days compassionate leave following the death of a
family member.

Any more than this would have to be taken as agreed holiday (paid or
unpaid).

To take 3 weeks off looks like you're milking it for all it's worth.

Stuff like this happens. Deal with it, move on, but don't take the piss
out of your employers because of it.

 

I'm sure someone of your literary abilities can come up with a way of
phrasing it so you get the message across with absolute clarity, but without
swearing at the **** and obliging either him to sack you or you to stomp
out.

That's what I said to my boss on Friday when I handed in my notice.

Must be something in the water this month ;-)

 

I didn't take any time off when I lost my dad, coz I had a good idea where
he was and a simple phone call confirmed my suspicions.
