Yeah just realised that when I was looking at Pete's reply about the
cost, I forgot you've still got about 6 traffic lights along pennant
hills rd at the end of the F3 before you can turn onto the M2. The 8 or
10K from the end of the freeway to Beecroft/Turramurra ish.

It's on the plan to get rid of that but after the cross city tunnel
fiasco I'm not sure this govt will start any more road building works
    real soon :)

    According to their website, http://www.westlinkm7.com.au/
it is capped at $5.98 from entry at the M2 to the exit at the M5.

Theoretically they'll take a pic of the bike and send you a bill, but
not charge you the admin fee.

I suspect an interstate plate will go in the "ah bugger it" box, but
    who knows.

You can buy a daypass in advance or after the fact. The daypass allows
you to use the tollroads on the day it was issued. Whether or not you
use the tollroads or not is not relevant... even if you're buying it for
    a previous day.

I'm glad we own our roads in WA.
There was one Liberal Gov't who talked about a toll on the Tunnel whilst it
was being built, but they decided they prefered to stay in power. Didn't
    work.

We Victorians were lucky enough to have a Liberal government at the same
time who sold the existing road from the city to the airport to a
private company and gave them the right to charge everyone to use it.

basically says there will never be a rail link or new rd to the
    airport.........

Yeah; I've gone via Wiseman's Ferry and west to Lithgow and then south-ish
from there the last couple of times. (And crossed the Hume at Gundagai and
    then headed for the Snowies)
I rode up route 7 from Campbelltown when I bought the K75 and I saw that
there were some not-quite-completed freeways then.
I'm not really worried about the tolls but I'd hate to think I'm OK and
then get a $100 fine in the mail.

But you should get the three-day pass if you're planning on not travelling
    on them again tomorrow!

You only get the fine if you don't cough up the $6 in a reasonable time.

No, you don't get to ask them if they got your picture or not, and
by the time they tell you it's too late to buy a pass. If you think
you were on the toll road, you either phone up and pay for a retrospective
pass or you don't. If you don't, and they did get your picture,
you get a fine. How complicated is that?

(Yeah, it's still free for bikes, Clem ...)
