Mate of mine is looking for a value on his wife's tatty old RG125...
    what he said:

Its a 1990 RG125. No fairing, dent in tank, hasn't moved under its own
power in three years, so tank and carb will need cleaning. Did have a
new clutch cable and a new front disc put on just before it stopped
    being used.

    Recorded milage is about 18,420.

Generally, it is a bit tatty - been sitting in the garage for the last
    two and a half years.

Any idea of what it *might* be worth....other than SFA, that is...

And if anyone wants a tatty, unloved RG, it's in Ilford...

  2. 150 quid, tops.

Worth more broken for spares, IMHO.

    The Older Gentleman muttered
That's what I told him. What you you reckon the larger lumps of it
    would be worth?

Not a clue, old boy. Far as I know the guy's wife bought it to learn
on and then gave up before getting the licence and fell foul of the
time bar. She wants to try again but chummy a) thinks its the wrong
bike to learn on and b) doesn't have the mechanical nowse to sort it
    out.

I'll pass on your email addy to the bloke (his name's Bob) and tell
    him you're interested.

    Cheers.

Yes, these were a pig to ride at the best of times, but especially if you
    were doing your CBT.

Like with the TZR125, the figure of eight manoeuvre was quite interesting,
due to the crap steering (1) compared to say a CG125, with the added
attraction of a horrid riding position, especially if you were taller than
    4".

Very rarely seen these days, and they were quite popular in their day.

    (1) As in supertanker turning circle, at least relatively speaking compared
to other 125s - fine on the open road though.
