The pace on the way to Verdun would have been sporting in the dry. As it
    was, it was sheer lunacy.

The run back was when I decided I needed something bigger than a 7R.
    Like, er, an SV650.

Cane had a similar view when we went for a ride in Normandy. Except I
was on the SV, and he was on (variously) his Blade, Andy's 10R, Adie's
    R1 and Kiran's Gixer thou.

I think the technical term is "tee hee"

We do that on a regular basis. There's only 8 of us.

IIRC, it was similar in Calais with you me and mups.

    Good point.

That was nearly five years ago now. We must do something else equally
stupid. I've got this Z200 that might be up for a run.

Time to resurrect the MZ (GCD) - it's in Pip's tender mercies ATM. I
    think.

I have either forgotten, or have never heard this one. Would you care to
    enlighten me?

Oh, and I suppose I'd better mention the infamous "exploding chair"
    incident.

I miss mine too. Once the house-buying thing is out the way, hopefully
next year, I shall re-evaluate my situation and maybe, just maybe, be
able to get another one. C1, in green, obviously.
I can't speak for Statto's Daytona, but much as I love my Sprint ST and
it suits 90% of the type of riding I do these days better than the
    9R[1], it's just not a screaming Kwak in-line four.

[1] in respect of the riding position & comfort for commuting; the 9R
would kill my back after filtering for a few miles.

Just not been able to click with it in the same way that I did with
the 9R. But, I did more miles and a track day on the 9R that just
    haven't happened with the Daytona.

Wanna buy another one? It's almost the same colour, too. Plenty bargain,
    much cheapness!

I remember trying to keep up with Eddie on his Falco, when I was on my
Ducati, and failing dismally. It was doing 120 and he was just fucking
    off into the distance.

I also remember, on the Duke, leaving Bruce's XJR1300 for dead on some
twisties, despite its 40bhp power disadvantage. And then we swapped
bikes, and, yes it left the Yam for dead again.

There is a glorious satisfaction to be had from opening people's eyes
at just how fast 65bhp can be rowed along. I do *like* thrashing the
tits off light relatively low-powered bikes. Mind you, I do sometimes
wonder whether similarly light high-powered bikes might be even more
    fun.

.... and then we came howling over the top of some biggish bridge, and
all had to haul it down rather quickly when we noticed the gendarme
    parked at the bottom.

To paraphrase me and CT "taking the corners faster in the wet

During a very noisy dinner there was one of those moments when there
is a lull in every conversation at the same time. Except that in this
instance there was one person still speaking. This very Irish voice
was clearly heard to say "it's funny - I love cunnilingus but I hate
    fish".
