TOG tours and old photos

  1. Was browsing some old piccies and found one of the square where Ginge got
wiped out by a mad female french motorist. Happy days.

Must make an effort to join one or two tours next year. It'll be by
aeroplane though - don't fancy a repeat of the last 3000 mile round trip
on a bike (mostly on boring motorways).

ITYM "Where Ginge scared the shit out of some Frog bint by bursting
    through her windscreen....."

Still, IMHO, one of the classic Tour moments. In no particular order
    of importance, I'd add:

Tim Crowther pissing the bed (Caudebec)

SteveH's £80 bottle of wine (also Caudebec)

The moment outside Caen when an entire group got split into five or
six sub-groups at the first motorway intersection.

Drinking the hotel bar out of beer (Sedan)

There must be more: any offers?

Pah. We managed that on the cliquerun to Verdun a couple of years ago,
and there were only six of us.

  5. Wasn't there someone who walked into his room to find that his room
mate had fallen asleep mid way through wanking off to the local porn
    channel?

  7. Yes!!

That was Prawn (the dormant wanker). Can't remember who he was sharing
with, but said ukrm-er was public-spirited enough to let everyone know
    the next morning.

  12. I think "passed out" is more accurate terminology.

*shrug*. TBH, I haven't a clue what did or didn't happen and any post
facto rationalization[1] would make me seem like Nige.

    [1] Or memory, even.

I suppose I'd better mention the Duclair Remark before anyone else does.
A couple of those subgroups followed me into a petrol station. A little
later, I encountered them again, parked up along the Avenue du 16ème Port,
having a navigational moment. I gave my brother a spare map and left them
    to it.
    Was that only Sedan?
There was something profoundly pleasing about that sports bar at Lille,
where you convinced Monsieur to stay open a little later for the motards
rosbifs. He was looking a little doubtful, and then a whole bunch more
turned up. And then a whole bunch more turned up. And then a whole bunch
more turned up. And then a whole bunch more turned up. And then a whole
bunch more turned up. And then a whole bunch more turned up.

on his 7R right in my mirrors for most of the trip back.
    Indeed.
