  3. I loved this bit...

" the time I bought a full sized 108 tonne railway locomotive without
    mentioning it to her first"

When Mrs WUN worked weekends, she learned to dread phone calls that
began "How much do you love me?".

To be fair, I only made them to avoid her hitting the latest acquisition
when she swung onto the drive.

A boat was one of my better ones. She used to swear that one day she'd
come home and find a helicopter out there.

These days it's an aeroplane that worries her. Not without some
justification it must be said. PA28s really aren't all that expensive...

(In fairness, I'm trying to convince myself not to bid on the JAP at the
    moment).

  5. Luckily, I am still able to fend off The Doctor's tut-tuts about the
latest piece of old iron I've bought, by reminding her of the infamous
wheel-less wheelbarrow she bought, "because it was cheap".

    pair of you by now.

Yes, but I already have a number of stationary engines.

It's just that most of them aren't supposed to be.

    "HINDLEY DODMAN

I mean, that almost makes sense. We're sort of turning our little corner
of Surrey into self-sufficiency. We've got the allotment, the chickens,
the bees. And a pig has been discussed[1]. So we generate our own
    electricity too.

    Let's see. Two kilowatts....

    <Checks spec of electric oven>

    Bugger.

[1] Rejected by daughter on the grounds that while she likes bacon, she
couldn't bring herself to kill it. Rejected by The Doctor because it
might uproot her plants and knock over the beehives.

You *have* also noticed that it's a 110V generator which is pretty
    useless over here.

I was just thinking that I don't recall Mil Millington having an
interest in motorecycles (nor actually marrying his girlfriend,
    either).
