.... in a long time that I've looked out the window in the morning during
a Melbourne hurricane and thought "I can just take the car".

    So I did.

And it felt good. I was warm, dry, had The White Stripes playing. I
even used an umbrella for the 15 metre walk from the car park.

Melbourne does not have huricanes. Melbourne does not have 'mini cyclones'
either (despite what is often reported in the media).

    Storms - yes.
    Violnet Storms - yes.
Torrential rains and gusting winds - yes.
    Localised flooding - yes.
    Hurricanes - no.

I would like to state that, in my opinion, Harsh week is now finally
over, and the Pedantic Era has begun !

If it is to be an era, will it last a lot longer than Harsh Week did?

    How about Accuracy Era?

Now I'm sorry, but that's grammatically incorrect. You shouldn't start a
sentence with a bracket, and you failed to capitalise the first letter.

Hmm, rock, paper, scissors. So does pedantic beat harsh, and what's the
    third option ?

I know a bloke who use to play 'hold your breath through
the sydney harbour tunnel'. You've gotta go pretty bloody
quick through there to make it out the other end without
turning blue! Tax cameras put a stop to that game, didn't
    they.

Me, I just looked at the BOM radar images and waited
arfa hour. They're good them - I've ridden *between*
several nasty thunderstorms in the past few days
without getting a drop of water on me!

Buggers on the Tuesday Night Ride got *soaked* 'cos
they hung around for post-ride pizza instead of pissing
off 'ome before the storm arrived :) Not this little
    black duck.
