My missus has a RAV4! Has a bigger boot and payload than the Brumby.

My ute is RWD but I get to drive the AWD 11 tonne fire truck whenever I
    want.

That's pretty close to my mix of bike wear as well big. And I don't see
many commuters in full leathers :)

    Well 1... I don't live in a big city, I live in a town with a population
of 250, and 2 there are 2 adults and 4 kids to carry around.

I used to use a Falcon with a centrefold front bench but they stopped
    making them.

None of the people movers except for the Chrysler Voyager have a motor
that will tow a tandem trailer with a couple of tonne on it, and the
Voyager doesn't have the tow bar rating to pull that much weight.

    That leaves... 4x4's.

Unless you can suggest something else that meets that criteria? *grin*

    There are others.

Your choices may be limited to your sense of ego though.

    Which part of

Do you think that retort addresses? The ball's been popped back into
your court and you've well and truly gone and missed it... perhaps
because you already had your hands full of your own?
However towering one's sense of ego is, it's not really an option for
carrying a heap of kids or towing a heap of gear, is it, now?

I can't be sure whether that is what's confusing you, but, however much
it might resemble one (I mean, look at all that shine; it must've
undergone some prolonged, vigorous polishing in its time), that
knob-shaped thing you might have on your own ego isn't, actually, a
    towball, you realise...?

    Let's have it, pissant...

    They may well be!

Please give me your list of 'not limited by ego' choices (that are not
4x4's) and that meet my criteria of carrying 6 people (and a large dog),
and are rated to tow a tandem trailer with a tonne on it (for work
    reasons) :)

Little one, you are not a parent are you? Do you have a motorcycle as yiour
primary source of transport (and ego)? Your use of masturbation to attempt
to redress any credibility you have shows that you are a small man that can
not handle someone with their own points of view that are not alligned with
    yours.
One day you may have the clarity you wish you verbosely protest to have.
Until then, ride safely and enjoy your future 4wd.

    Welcome to my killfile.

And think of the street cred!

GB, who actually quite likes those new double decker buses
they have in Singapore and Hong Kong. Bolt up the stairs
to beat all the other punters to the front row seats up
    the top! Wooooo!

Work reasons? You seem to be adding factors into this discussion that I
could only second guess you on.

There are many adequate minibus type chasis that have suitable power and
seating for you. I understand that many falcons and commodores as well as
other "imported cars" will do the same as your 4wd, they have extra seats
    and do fine.

Perhaps you should tell me why this discussion involves you as you do not
live in the city of melbourne. Was it because I mentioned 4wd in the city?
    Are you that easily flustered?

You like those? You'd _love_ the ones in Brazil then... triple bending,
double deckers... carry more people than our commuter trains do :)

I said originally that I needed to 'tow a tandem trailer with a tonne on
it', the fact that I have added that this is for work and not for
private reasons does not alter my criteria. It merely gives you more
    information.
Many adequate minibus chassis that have suitable power and seating?
Really? Please name them... as I am only aware of the Toyota 12 seater
mini bus available in Australia, and that is _not_ suitable to tow a
tandem trailer loaded with a tonne on the back (as mentioned in my
original post listing criteria). This vehicle is available with a small
4 cylinder diesel or a small 4 cylinder petrol motor... both of which
struggle to maintain 110kph on the highway with only people on board...
let alone a tandem trailer carrying a tonne.

There are of course large mini buses like the toyota coaster and the
Mitsubishi rosa, but they are 21 and 24 seaters, and use more fuel and
take up more road than my 4x4 by a significant amount.

This is hardly the low impact option you seem to be claiming you can
    offer :)
I do not live in the city of Melbourne, but I commute on a regular basis
to there and back. This means my 4x4 is _in_ the city... and that is
what you percieve the problem to be is it not?

I am not that easily flustered no :)

I am enjoying waiting for your no doubt.... 'interesting' answer!

Not quite. Most of my sense of accomplishment stems from my thanking my
lucky stars I grew up to know better than to try to bignote myself in an
online forum by randomly stringing together haughty-sounding words
before declaring myself the winner of an argument.

Then there's also my having a big dick and having the ability to ****
    for hours...
Guess I owe myself $10... that's what I bet myself you wouldn't pick up
    on that.
Ummm, seeing how my Gasbagese is a bit rusty, could you try phrasing
that using a different dialect... alternately, you can quit while you're
behind and go develop an "I know shit" schtick which doesn't require you
to drop clangers like "A minibus is a preferable alternative to a 4WD",
"A Michelin Macadam is a good tyre" and "Your use of masturbation to
attempt to redress any credibility you have..."
Last time I saw someone fold that quickly, I was watching the final of
the World Origami Championship on Fox Sports at a pub.
