To the patio, Batman!

  1. Just sneaked above 40 degrees and I've had a few beers.

This afternoon I shall mostly be a sugar and spoon.

What's the pool temp? Ours got up to 32 a week or so back, so I had to
start leaving the cover open at night. Any higher than that and it's
like taking a bath... which is nice in the evenings, but not in the
middle of the day when you want to coll off in it.

F and I are off to my friend Howard's in the Dordogne next week -
apparently it's 35C there atm, and the pool is around 30C.

Sounds about right. It's <checks> just under 30C on my desk at the
moment, about the same outside. Give my regards to Howard, and take it
easy on the trip over - how you travelling anyway? I presume that you
(as opposed to F) won't be planning on driving it?

    Yummy :)
    I shall, of course.
Flying into Bergerac. I would have been happy to drive it, but we're
taking F's 5yo, and it's a long time for a little one to be cooped up
in a car. Once there, I plan to do little more than sit by the pool,
fall in it occasionally, and drink beer.

  10. I started leaving the cover off ages ago. It got so it wasn't having any
cooling effect because the water pretty much got to air temperature. With
the cover off it cools quite substantially at night, particularly if
there's a breeze. And that's in August when the air doesn't cool down
that much ie; last night I had to leave the aircon on so I could sleep.

In answer to your question, I don't know. It feels quite cold at 8:30AM
when I take my first dip of the day.

  11. Did I say it was? Mind, I wouldn't want to be in the YUK in that sort of
    temp, with 90something % humidity.

    Here, quite comfortable.

I was on the RER yesterday, in suit and tie - it seemed to be about
    45C.

    Not exactly pleasant.
