There were two Advisors attending the meeting in Ft.Worth last night.. Mike Alvey and Elmer McKeeghan .. Mike chaired the meeting .. A couple of the candidates running for office came.. Jeannetter Popp whis is running for State Representative addressed the group first ..Nice lady and she is very enthusiastic in her support of several issues that affect bikers as well as anyone who'd like to make some changes in our government.. Morris Meyers, who is also an advocate for motorcyclists and known to many of us, gave us benefit of some of his own observations about the upcoming elections..Morris Meyer has been struggling in an uphill battle against an incumbent with a huge campaign bankroll .. He is making very good progress and has evened the odds considerably.. The incumbent in that office is now facing a very credible and imposing candidate..in Morris Meyer.. For the first time in years his seat is being threatened.. Both candidates took questions from the group.. All in all, the meeting was quite interesting and informative..The tone and message was generally "Everybody go vote and be sure to take a busload of friends with you." This one was short and other than a few who chose to stand around in the parking lot, just to visit, the meeting broke up at about nine o'clock.. Another good one for TMRA II..
