Just picked up a Darmah and would like tire suggestions for road use.
Pirelli used to be a hot brand. Is this still the case?

What size tire? If it were me I'd go with the bridgestone BT45's. More
likely to find them in a size to fit a 1978 Darmah than a Pirelli,
but I haven't looked at Pirelli for tires in that size and I ride a
    motorcycle of that vintage.

    Tire Sizes:
    Front: 100/90V 18
    Rear: 120/90V 18
Thank you for the information. Before your reply, I installed Avon
RoadRiders (per Bevel Heaven-Steve Allen's suggestion). So far, so
    good.
I have heard good things about the Brigestone BT 45's and shall try
    them next time.

I've never ridden a bevel duke nor tried the avon roadriders but I've
been very happy with the BT45s on my Laverda & my wife's bonneville (as
well as my old VFR & Aprilia Pegaso) - I don't think you'll go far wrong
    with them.

I need to put tyres on the Laverda soon (100/90 & 130/80 V18) and I've
heard good things about the Pirelli Sport Demon so I'll probably try
them as they're marginally cheaper than the BT45.

Continental do the ContiGo in a similar range of sizes but the only
bloke I know who's tried them so far has only had them fitted (to his
BM) this week so no feedback yet

Always smart to listen to a subject matter expert.
I like them. Both on my 79' GL1000 and on the wife's 09' ninjette. 8^)
I voluntered to scrub in the tires for her. ;^)

I put a set of BT45V's on my early model GSXR750, hoping to make it
quicker handling on tight, narrow roads in the Santa Monica mountains.

Turns out that the deep water channels make the rear tire *squirmy* as
the large, unsupported tread blocks move around.

And, although the BT45V's were the same size as the original
Bridgestone radials that were OEM on the Suzuki, I removed a 20mm
wider rear Dunlop K591 to install the "proper" sized tires.

And the wider Dunlops were doing a *great job* of resisting gusty
crosswinds in the desert and the SoCal canyons.

I got pushed completely out of my lane onto the double yellow line by
a wind gust, so I have to be more aware of the wind while riding on
    BT45's...
