Too stubborn to go down. I could tell a tale or two myself. Like having a mare unload both barrels and catch me on both thighs. Knocked me down and missed her foal that was in my arms. She was aiming for a thick headed gelding that ran in between us. That ol' girl walked up and checked on both of us. Keith
Well, you know she didn't mean it for sure but that mean and nasty gelding knew exactly what he was doing. He belonged to someone else and I wouldn't give him the feed that was in my bucket. He whirled around and I couldn't get out of his way. He planted both hooves together, right into my chest. I can say this... it hurt too damn bad to cry. That is the same crazy horse that bit me in the back, for again the same reason. After that, I took to carrying a crop. He stopped messing with me after a couple of whacks to his nose. Ya know, I never got kicked or bit by one of my own horses. One young mare did hit me in the face with her head but she was nuts when I got her. She's the only one I ever had to ride till she couldn't buck any more. One more reason why I ride a motorcycle now. You don't feed 'em, they don't kick and bite you, or other people and if you don't feel up to messing with them, they sit there and don't stray off. Oh, and I don't have to clean it's stall. ;-)
