Is this some kind of septic baby talk? You don't use "starboard" when
referring to roads, & it's a roundabout, not a "rotary".

I've got to tow a trailer around part of the M25 on Sunday. The last
time I did that it took me about 3 weeks to calm down. I suspect my
large range of hand gestures will get a vigorous work-out.

The M25 is easy provided you adopt a max target speed of 60 and stick in
lane one. You will rarely reach maxspeed% but you will be moving faster
than lanes 2,3 and, where it has one, 4 more or less all the way.

**** knows. I've got a little screw under the throttle assembly that
    lets me lock it open.

Which is exactly what winds me up. I long for the day when I see a
copper pull over a string of middle-lane sitters & do them all for
driving without due care or something.

US forces personnel are forced to take a basic riding course if they
want to ride in the UK as a huge number of them kept having big crashes,
and in many cases, subsequently dying

I don't know why they're so crap, but having watched these training
sessions for over a year I came to the conclusion the standard of riding
in the US must be appalling as these riders seemed to only be capable of
    going in a straight line

My tip's really simple - be fucking careful and don't ride at anywhere
near your normal pace 'cos, judging by your fellow countrymen's riding,
it's a whole different world over here

Fortunately we don't have turns on red in NYC either, so I won't be tempted...

The real bugger will be when you go back

Have you seen a map of the US road network? Predominantly the roads are
aligned East/West or North/South with very little interest in the way of
twisties. If you're lucky you might get a single bend just to liven up the
motoring experience, otherwise its straight roads all the way. On my first
visit to Detroit a few years ago (visiting Henry's engineers) my colleague
remarked that the reason for the lack of small cars was evident - they'd get
    lost in the potholes.

    Cheers

I was imagining the spastic fit you would have had if I had said the "right"
side of the road. Anyway you should be proud of your maritime heritage. In
the states no one would have known WTF I was talking about.

For "rotary", well, I couldn't remember if it was "turnabout" or "roundabout".
And "circle of death" I felt would have been too vague.

    You'll never guess what bike I'm renting. It's a Bandit 600. I think in
other circumstances you and I might be the best of friends.

Costs me about 7 quid to fill up my car. With about 55 litres.
Well, you can pay it through income tax, or VAT, or tax on fuel. Your
call. But the money has to come from somewhere.

Wouldn't we all but who would want to be the poor fucking plod having to
/walk/ along the M25? It would be an excellent additional use for all
that new technology they have got though. See'em, flash'em, bill'em. I
wonder why they don't do it? More to the point I wonder why they
haven't *said* they were going to do it.
