Exactly. They also might start to get the message that we are all fed up
    with it.

    Do you really think:
    a. that there would be enough *general* support for this to occur?
    b. that those controlling the judicial system would not defend their turf?

In my earlier post on this topic I advised that whereas I had incurred a
penalty of: loss of 3 points and $165 fine, by losing in court, it cost me:
loss of 3 points $250 and licence suspension for 14 days.
The latter may have significance for some regarding future insurance
    premiums.
At a point in my trial, the magistrate when questioning my intention to
proceed to the stage of taking the stand, mentioned something about
$1000?? ... it went over my head?? I got a wake-up when toward the
end he asked what my taxable income was!
I *respectfully* suggest that before one ventures into playing in the
big league, one really needs to become fully aware of where they stand.
Corks, hinted to it; these people don't take kindly to being fucked around.
I have given a lot of thought to the concept of the magistrate thinking:
Who's this fucking upstart wasting my precious time. Further theirs is an
industry, I'm inclined to think that those who think that they are smart
enough to go it alone, suffer some resentment anyway?
I'm not sure that it happens, but if one indicates their intent to go
    through
the system, and eventually pleads guilty and doesn't attend, and as a
consequence the brief of evidence is then admitted as the charge.. beware.
The brief written against me was an absolute load of crap, and showed me
up as a fuckwit, acting accordingly.
If the Brief is presented in one's absence as the charge against them,
then from my experience, I would be very apprehensive about letting
    this happen.

Maybe, maybe not. It's worth a shot. It doesn't cost much extra.

Now, before you re-iterate your rant, I will show that I _did_ read your
    post compeltely.

You ONLY got the increased fine etc because you plead innocent.

What I am suggesting is that everyone contests the fines, and then, when the
court summons arrives, pleads GUILTY. (Ie, take the fine and give up, 'cause
if it does go to court, you aint going to win.) In this case, you will get
the default fine, and that is all (with the possible addition of roughly $60
    in court costs.)
