Well the old BT020 on the rear of the Thunderarse is just about
rooted. Seeing as I've squeezed almost 11K kms I guess I can't whinge
    too much.

When I went to Gekko to scope out new tyres, I noticed that they had
Dunlop GPR100s for a fair chunk less than the Bridgies.

Has anyone used the GPR100s? Any idea how they compare with the
BT020s? I want to get an idea how their grippiness vs long
lastingness goes, if anyone can help.

    Ta,

    BF.

  2. Hoe the hell do you get 11k out of a rear? I'm not trying to be
    facecious, but wah. Seriously.

  3. I suppose I should keep my mouth shut about getting 21k out of my second
rear, after doing 20k on the first?

  5. No - and I wasn't trying to do that. But I still find 11k's amazing.
Even commuting I didn't think you could do that. Best I've ever done
was about 6k and managed to rip a BT58 apart in 2200km.

I'm not trying to be a wanker, I just am trying to envisage the riding
conditions where you get that many k's out of a rear tyre on a bike
    like a Thunderace. Even on commuting . . .

    Horsepower junkie!

    Zebee
    - just under 10k on the Bike Not To Be Named, and the tyre has plenty
    left.

  10. Ha! If you want tyre life, go the Hyosung GV250. Bloke in town has got
18k on the rear before changing, and 24k on the front so far and it's
still looking bloody good. OEM tyres.

    BMW R1100RT, 285kg and a massive 90HP. I regularly get 20-22K km out
of my rear Metzler Z6. What's the problem? Isn't this normal?

Fark, that's heavier than I thought. The Bike That Shall Not Be Named
is lighter... and claims the same HP but we all know what that's
    worth.

So after all that I take it that nobody here has the faintest clue re
    the GPR100s?

    Fair 'nuff. Will investigate further.

Well, the only bike I ever rode with GPR100s was a Baby Blade.

The tyres felt really good, but I was only on the bike for 15 minutes,
    so dunno about life expectancy.
