Well that certainly explains why I put up with tech inspection on track
days, and that horribly oppressive rule that everyone run in the same
direction on the track, and (horror) obey corner worker flags. You're
right. I'm going to take the Vette out now, and see how fast I can travel
against traffic on the freeway. I'm a very, very good driver, and have
several track classes under my belt, so, since I have no intention of
hurting anyone else, my behavior is certainly justified. Heck, it might
even assist us with the "struggle for freedom".

Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose.....

Too bad for you. We get our GP in San Jose next July. It's going to be a
    blast.

    .. Now that
Hmmm.....now into my second career, I'm finding that there's plenty of work
in most fields, as long as someone feels like really working.
    Usually, I find.

  5. Hmmmmmm... not really. You find plenty of work because you're smart
enough to zig when everyone else zags. If everyone got hip to that
then suddenly there wouldn't be plenty of anything.

40% of the US population is poor. That means that if these folks were
suddenly liberated into your pool and took a whiz, you wouldn't find
plenty of work in any fields.

A lack of skilled people doesn't make a wealth of opprtunity. It just
means skilled people are even rarer than opportunity.

    I concede it is a multi-layered onion.

But, hyperbole to hyperbole IS apples to apples.

  8. We have speed limits because of the obvious line of sight and reaction time
problems. And regardless of the speed, it's quite evident that having some
traffic go 2-3 times as fast as others is not a good recipe.

We have basic licensing requirements for both cars and bikes because there
is some level of skill necessary to negotiate the roads with other traffic.

Insurance requirements because too many people screw up, and won't pay for
    their misdeeds.

Personal responsibility might dictate taking the rap when you get caught, too.
None of you really want to claim he's innocent, right? Just that he wasn't
    going 205. Duh.

well, open yer freakin eyes the next time you are asked to give a
thumbprint at the bank, or get felt up at the airport after standing in
    long pointless lines. yer wanker.

they are not actually LOOKING for terrorists. If they were doing that,
they wouldn't be stopping grandmas to xray their bags. Try goin theough
an El-Al security checkpoint. In and out in under 3 minutes. they KNOW
wnat to look for, and it isn't a random search of an 84 yr old woman in
San Jose at the FREAKIN Airport.

understood, and no, I haven't seen you at the races. Never seen you at T-
hill, Never seen you at Sears, Never seen you at Buttonwillow, Streets,
    Vegas, or Firebird.

Perhaps you do go to AFM? look for me on the track, #116 I'll be in
    front of you.

understood. and my basic statement stands, people worry about way too
much. you wanna speed? you are in middle of no where Wisconsin? GO
    man go

of course if you are parked in traffic in downtown bezerkley, you should
not run 150mph. that's the time to lane split & do stoppies.....
    sheesh!

  11. Look it up. It's there and real and yes, relative.
WTF for? So we can have endless strawmen arguments about how many
angels can dance on the head of a pin?
I have basic cable. Does this make me poor? Or too busy to watch
    anything other than Speed Channel?

If you're so keen on the definitions that take place in other
countries why not just move there and experience them firsthand?

Per the census bureau, ~12.5 % of the population falls

$8,000 a year or nine people living on $32,000 a year doesn't sound
like a lot of fun even in the low rent states.

Dunno about Texas but in CA there is a speed at which they assume
    reckless driving -
I am pretty sure that speed is less than 125 mph ... and it seems
    plausible that the
guy was doing at least 125!
