Why are people obsessed with fuel consumption? It's a bike, it costs a
bit of money to run and enjoy, live with it.

I bet if we rode round at 55 mph pretending to be Marlon Brando we'd get
at least 45mpg:) I get about 36mpg out of the Kawasaki and about 40 from
    the Tiger.

I do alot of miles. My daily commute is roughly 25 miles each way. I
also do a fair few miles for pleasure too. On average I'd say I was in
the 15 - 20K miles a year bracket, which is a little less than I was
    doing last year.

I still don't see why people whinge about fuel consumption, if they were
to own a car with similar performance they'd be paying a damn sight more
    at the pumps.

Like I said, enjoy it and live with it.

I've had mine for about five years now, and it's coming up on 50,000 miles

think of any other bike I'd rather have, (except perhaps the new Tiger
with the alloy wheels and improved suspension).

It's a wonderfully capable bike. Tour; commute; play; it'll do them all.
I even know folk who take them off-road, but you're not going to catch
    me doing that!

Build quality is good. Mine's stood up to loads of abuse - I'm not a
mechanically sensitive owner! It's garaged, but it gets used all year
round and seldom washed. Apart from having fairly disgusting wheel rims,
    it still looks OK.

I've tried a few others, notably the GS1150 and V-Strom and the Tiger was
my clear favourite - even mine, which is the 885 engine, (but same look
as the current model: not the very old one).

Well you never can tell, but there is always the chance that if a number
of people post similar figures at odds with the OP, then it may indicate
that the OP's bike has a fault. If you don't like this thread don't read
    it.

  8. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
They have these marvellous things called fillums, in which you can watch
icons of previous generations pout and preen.
