Although it is *very* rare for me it has taken some time for me to get
round to taking the Gixxer flat out.

Anyway, this task can be ticked off now.

Not just how fast, but how it does it. **** ME...what a machine!

Now it's been thrashed is the asking price down to something sensible
    (i.e. something I can afford?)

Last time I took a machine flat out for any extended period it threw its
oil out the breather. The time before that a different bike also threw
its oil out; via the hole the connecting rod had punched in the cases.

Can I have a go on your GSXR? Mister.

    Champ says...
I was lucky. I maxed mine out on the M1 in Eire, just south of Drogheda,
heading for the ferry home on the day I bought it. I think I'd owned it
about 2 hours at most. It's bloody hard doing that with a Baglux tankbag
and an Oxford sports tailpack on it.

I'm of the opinion that it's bloody rude to put it back in the garage
for the night if it hasn't hit 150mph that day.

I was on my way to the shop, with a view to submitting it for sale,
and the man gave it an 'almost showroom condition' price tag. One
    careful owner.

I know. I been a bit slow about it. To be honest, I'm not the man I
used to be. I'm just more sensible now.

When I picked up my FZ750, way back, I took it from the shop, rode
straight to the edge of town[1] and checked it out. All present and
    correct.
I always try to be as polite as possible.
