Nope. They inject it because of the rush. It takes a couple of seconds
and you are as high as you are gonna get and it is pure pleasure all the
    way.

    just as well.

Did he get pissed off when he found out he was going to live for more
    than 10 seconds?

Hey? when they banged morphine into my arm it hit me quickly.

Pethedine was a better rush though...

    Was it intravenous or intramuscular?

It does get there almost as quick but all of it comes out of the needle
in one go, so it is instant up to the top. If when smoking you take
your hit in one toke then it is as near as makes no odds to the same
effects as jacking. If, like the dope smokers, you pass the joint round
a few times then the top of the hit takes a while longer and comes as a
    series of steps.

Yes injecting wastes nothing and what disappears in a wispy cloud is
wasted if you smoke. I forget what it is called now but the real heads
will suck blood back out of the vein to wash the last little bit out of
    the syringe.

I think he was generally pissed off anyway. Can't remember what
    happened to him.

Er.. to bring it on topic, he was a biker, one of the blokes in his
squat used to have a BSA A10 with a chair; it looked like an arm chair
sat on top a pram wheel. *sigh* that was all close to 25 years ago now.

I think that's more to do with needle play than anything else.

And that it's also possible to function as a useful member of society
    whilst addicted.

So it's totally safe for me to inject 2001mg of heroin then?

    <phew!>

  15. There was a documentry[1] on the idiots lantern about drinking in
Cardiff[2] which thikki could do with watching before declaring booze
    so harmless.

[1] Bit of a point to prove so focused on violence
[2] Mine Dew, living in Wales would be enough to drive me to drink.

AOL. Comes of being able to land properly without breaking anything, I
expect. Some people are just far too fragile.

Quoting liberally from Bill Bryson's "Made in America" ...

"In the years 1925 to 1939 American wine consumption actually trebled and
California's vineyards expanded from less than 100,000 acres before
Prohibition to almost 700,000 acres afterwards."

"Before Prohibition New York had 15,000 legal saloons; by the end of
Prohibition it had over 30,000 illegal ones. Detroit had no fewer than
20,000 speakeasies ... Boston was rather primmer with just 4,000 illicit
watering holes, but that was four times the number of legal saloons in the
    whole of Massachusetts before Prohibition."

"[The Volstead Act] was a law without teeth. Congress appropriated just $5
million to enforce the act and employed just 1,520 agents to protect
America's frontiers from smugglers - or one man for every twelve miles of
    border".
"Many, including quite a few in the temperance movement itself, were under
the impression that Prohibition would affect only hard liquor and that
milder tipples like beer would be safe. How wrong they were." (ibid).

10 times the price on average. Unless you live in the compounds. The
Merkin compounds are the safest (for making alcohol), as the religious
police don't like to go there.

The Saudi's are great though, as loads of them go to places like
Bahrain and Dubai for the w/e's to get rat-arsed and then come back
    and behave proper like.
    Persacktly.

That's, IIRC, a myth. Nicotine is more addictive.
