    1) Wife's car packs up, it's terminal.
    Fine, well SWMBO can drive my car, as I use the bike anyway.
    2) My bike is smashed.
    Well, I can't ride/drive now for a while anyway, so I don't need my car.
    3) Brakes fail on my Mondeo, and wife and kids smash through a wall into a
    tree.
    At least no one was badly hurt.

    3 vehicles -> 0 vehicles in 3 weeks.

    It's a car. They all do that.
    A fine plan
    car.

    That's clumsy

    That's lucky - could have been a lot worse. Hope they get on the mend
    quickly. Time for a quiet word with the garage?

    Sorry? detail. I've never heard of both circuits failing catastrophically
    but a quick google reveals the possibility. Eeek
    Shit I said recently that a Mondy was a better bet than a BMW 3 series!

    She swerved to avoid hitting stopped traffic ahead and oncoming traffic on
    the other side of the road.

    The rear brakes were replaced last week. Suspect? I would have thought so.
    I'd go for the BMW personally!

    Sorry, following a recent EU ruling, shit now happens in fours, not the
    previously common threes.

    Brace yourself.

    Thanks Jackie, I'm off to see whether I can get the family at least one
    vehicle today. The others will hopefully follow. Being without a vehicle
    is a really bizarre experience, I now know why people would like a better
    public transport system.
