  1. I see the old ones are invalid after 30 June 2005, and I haven't had a
replacement for the 400 Four yet.

Anyone know what the procedure is for saying: "Get yer finger out?" to
    the DVLA?

ISTR they usually issue them after the vehicle has been taxed or a new
    SORN has been applied for.

    This might help though:

  4. It did.

"Vehicle keepers who have not received the new certificate and do not
need to tax their vehicle, or make a SORN, by June 2005 and want one can
do so by returning their V5 registration document to DVLA Swansea SA99
    1BA with an accompanying letter."

    Thanks.

wreckferret emerged from their own little world to say
They do. The cage one arrived in Jan and the bike in the last few days.
Both about 3 weeks after buying a new RFL.

  6. Bikes that were off the road and not sorned before a certain cut-off
date (can't remember what, now) are exempt. Or something. I think the
short answer to your question is: "No".

Sell it to a friend, and have the friend send the details off for a V5
    and tax it.

Then buy it back of said friend.

Kinda on the subject (OK, well not really, but...) What happens if an
anonymous person were to tax a bike that they had neglected to sorn 2
or 3 yrs ago? Is it an automatic £80 fine, or what? Can I escape the
    fine?
