This trackday idea of mine

I called the good chaps at No-Limits today because they are running a
noisy day at Mallory in the summer that appeals.

I have managed to negotiate a 10% discount for a group of 10 riders,
plus one free place. This brings the cost down to 90 quid each, which
aint bad for a full-noise trackday. My thoughts are that given the
amount of regulars and lurkers, plus mates of regulars who don't post or
lurk, we should be able to get 20 of us together for a good day out. The
free places will be dished out as follows. One to me for coming up with
the idea and DFVing - in much the same way as I'm led to believe the TOG
Tours are run - everyone else's name is put in a hat and the other free
place goes to whoever's name is pulled out.

So, you pay the discounted 90 quid and then there's a 1 in 19 chance
could even get your trackday free.

What say you?

The reasons behind my thoughts of Mallory are it's close to the centre
of the country, so fairly easily accessible for everyone, the track has
a good surface, they do noisy days frequently, it's novice friendly but
fast if you want it to be and I've never ridden or driven it. It also
happens to be my mate Paul Lewis' all time favourite circuit, and if
it's good enough for a top flight ex-500GP racer then it's good enough
for the likes of you or me. Anyway, you thinking of getting a bike and
doing a trackday this year then?

No-one's forcing you to come along, I'm sure there'll be enough takers.
The nice thing about it being a "novices" track is that it'll get some
people there who otherwise would never have tried a trackday.

Different folks, different strokes. The world would be a very sad place
if we all liked the same things.

Aren't spell checkers wonderfool at times?

 

There'll be plenty of other chances to do a trackday before next
winter. If I wanted to gamble on the weather in late March I could do
Silverstone GP again for the princely sum of £75.
