(Seven year-old girl killed in collision between quad bike and Range
    Rover)

Like what was a small kid doing on a quad bike in the road, in the dark,
    anyway?

Unless the RR mounted the kerb, I suppose.

Oh well, that's someone's Christmas present totalled.

Funnily enough, I read that this morning and was just discussing it
    with Elly.
    That was the pertinent question.
The other question is how pavement-legal is a 100cc quad? IMO, a
seven-year old should not have been out on a quad, let alone on the
road in the dark - on road or pavement.
    Only 10,000 to go.

  3. Indeed. I'd never heard of a Shark quad, and wondered if it was one of
those little electric thingies. I was startled to find out exactly what
    it was.

Well, that's what comes of having Essex parents, I suppose. Thick cunts.

    <Thinks>

I wonder what Ant bought his kids?

But will plod take any action against the parents for letting her out
    on the quad?

Exactly the same as it would be to ride any other non-road-legal 100cc
vehicle along the pavement - not at all.

In a supervised off road environment it wouldn't be too bad , but outside in
the street is just plain daft

I had to google for it. It may be that Shark make a range of quadlets
too, but the 100cc one seemed prevalent.
    <raises eyebrows>

    This is Essex plod, right?

The lad had his first powered wheels on his seventh birthday. A low
powered 50 auto MX bike which he learned to ride on private land in
    two inches of snow.

I wonder if the quad was only crossing the road to get to a field or
    other land?

Still stupid to let the kid ride it across, particularly in the dark.

Or, come to that - a road-legal vehicle.
For all we know, the ex-sprog was a farmer's daughter that had been
riding quads competently for years. I'd go along with the daft theory
    until proved otherwise, though.

Obviously, the driver of the offroader was to blame.

  11. As has been remarked in here before - if women didn't have fannies, we'd
    throw rocks at them.

Buggered if I can recall who said it first, but it's one of lifes little
    aphorisms worth remembering.

    At age seventeen?

    Essex girl.....

Yes, you're absolutely right. And she'll have three kids by then, too.

Well, having just seen the news report on tv, it looks like it happened
on a country lane with grass verges, so there was no issue of the quad
    being ridden on a pavement.

Sounds like the RR driver was pissed and the kid was riding illegally.
    Double-whammy.

  18. Some daft Essex tart gets locked up, then, and the world is rid of the
danger of total fuckwits' offspring passing on their genes. Everyone's a
