Been lurking here a bit because I have an interest in motorcycles. That may
have been a mistake. Some decent posters here, but too many foul
mouthed, ignorant people who apparantly have no meaningful lives outside a
computer, and who do not comprehend that posts to a motorcycle newsgroup
should be related to motorcycles, not politics and personal animosities.
Life is tough, it's nice when we try to help each other along, and just a
waste of time and effort when we make it a "me first" contest filled with
anger and hate. Some of you seem to have some clinically severe emotional
and personality problems and could benefit from professional help. Lighten
    up, for Christ's sake.

LMAO... Enjoy.. It is an unmoderated and OPEN newsgroup.. Most will post
what they have on their mind.. That's kind of typical of bikers, don't you
think ?? Most will talk "ugly" now and then, again.. typical of bikers..
CMA also has a group somewhere, or so they tell me.. Don't even use
profanity on that group.. Usenet has an unusually large group of "kooks" and
"personality" problem type people.. Lots of Posers and Wannabes too..
Usually this group runs itself pretty well and except for about once a year,
not too many problems.. Seems like no less than once a year, someone comes
along to straighten everyone out .. Then, the shit pretty well hits the fan
for a while.. It all goes away after a little time... Hope you enjoy..

Thanks, but saying that it's okay to post nasty personal attacks and and
clutter a newsgroup with way off topic crap because it's unmoderated and
OPEN is like saying it's okay to commit crimes because it's a FREE country.
The point is that intelligent and civilized people should be able to
moderate themselves, address others, even though they vehemntly disagree
with them, with at least a modicum of respect and civility. Freedom implies
responsibility, and behaving well even when nobody's making you is a major
component of character. Sorry about the equally off topic rant; I'll go away
    now.

I have re-read my response to your post.. I fail to see where I advocated
any of the objects of your dislike..

    Freedom implies
Sad to say, that examples of that conduct is not represented well in any
diverse group of people..Discussions do get out of hand, at times.. Attacks
are waged and discussed, sometimes disrespectfully..That is the price we pay
for "Freedom".. No one is "forced" to behave in any manner which they don't
wish to.. Many very good people on this group do not engage in the
discussions which you are averse to.. A "few" do.. Your engagement in this
conduct is your responsibility .. Evidently, this newsgroup displeases you..
Too bad.. You might be a good contributor, but that choice is also yours..

Sorry about the equally off topic rant; I'll go away
We all "rant" now and then.. Nothing to apologize for..

Hey guy! I think everyone on here has an interest in bikes.....or we
    wouldn't be here.

I used to have a pretty strict "policy" that the topic should always
be about bikes, too. I can understand having that opinion.

Later, I came to the opinion that this a form predominantly about
bikes but also for and by bikers. I would not ask someone on a ride
to keep quiet about whatever was on their mind if it didn't pertain to
bikes. So, I figured the same logic kind of applied here.

I make a concerted effort to keep my posts on topic about riding, but
I slip every now and then.

As for the other fighting and bickering, I am not into that either and
just stay out of it. ;-)

If you want more topics about bikes.....post some messages!

Work hard, make lots of money and we'll see how much of it we can spend, in
    Austin..

You can't expect the person you are addressing to understand your
correct, mature, and spot-on comments. It is best to use a killfile here.

Personally, I'd prefer you didn't go away. If there are enough
intelligent people posting here it might become a decent newsgroup, one
I was hoping I'd find, but has been tainted thus far by a scant few.

Hang out a while.....what do you ride?

This IS a good newsgroup .. Your contribution so far hasn't enhanced it ..
When you came on this newsgroup a few short weeks ago, you came in choosing
sides in a "flame war" that was initiated by a "scant couple" of posters ..
Your approach to this group hasn't benefitted the quality of it one damned
bit.. what do YOU ride ?

You tell 'em Sunny.. Maybe you better start recruiting again... Seems like
the ones you primed up to do your little chore have all been neutered..
LOL.. Your taste in friends is terrible.. Don't you know that trash can't
make it ? Hell .. all those years being a barmaid should have taught you
that ... Better luck next time.. NOT..

Dammit.. too bad guys have to make a living.. huh ? That's just one of the
perks to getting as old as I have.. LOL.. The only boss I got is the little
Mexican that I allow to live over here with me... <grin> (ain't I
something).. That ol' pard of mine was looking forward to meeting the dude
with the "eyetaliano" motorcycle that would run up a wall.. He's never seen
anyone ride one of those things the way you do.. Take care and we'll be
seeing you when you finish that project..

Well hopefully there will be other times to ride. I would have made
more of an effort to reschedule a few things but this trip was fairly
important for my company so I didn't think it would be a good idea to
    stiff them on it.

Thanks and take care!! Be safe!
