I am thinking going for a ride around Tassie, staying at pubs etc instead of
tent and swag. Has anyone done this lately, how long did you spend there?,
accommodation availability and cost?, good bike roads?, things not to miss?
    etc. All feedback handy. Thanks.

B&B are all around Tassie and are pretty good

I went around for a couple of weeks in Nov 2003 and despite been a bit on
the cool side I found the roads good

    ***Never long enough***
I'll agree with that.. 2 weeks we didnt see 1/10th of the touristy
shit let alone the good stuff.

Worst thing out of queenstown, the signs that I remember saying 30kph
left, were 1 corner early... the next corner actually went right not
    left...

book well ahead and yes it is dearer then the mainland but worth every
cent - hostels are good and all you need is a sleeping bag.

The pub at Waratah. Run by a biker couple, who will adopt you as family as
soon as you walk in with helmets.

February is a good time of year to go.

The run out of Queenstown is my favourite road of all time. Definitely in
    the "not to miss" category.

  10. And don't miss the Pub in the Paddock at Pyengana on the East Coast,
    also very bike friendly.

Haven't updated this for a while, but it's still relevant:

    Do it.
SWMBO and my good(?) self did a bit of a ride around for 17 days in
    March last year.
not long enough to see or do everything so take your time and stop and
enjoy the scenery you may not get the chance again.

  20. ocean..

Lucky you didn't get caught then! It might have impacted negatively on
your getting accepted to Goulburn. Then again, they might have just
chucked you straight in the highway [robbery] patrol...
