Skip the bit about mobile phones, and this is what happened to me many many
moons ago - pisshead launched himself out in front of my car, next thing I
knew, it was like the bit in Jurassic Park where the T-Rex gawps in through
the car window... well at least I think it was; it was a bit difficult to
see too much through the shattered remains of the screen, what with all the
blood from his head and my split knuckles, all over it.

Chappie in question admitted he'd had a few when I visited him in hospital.

Anyway... I was absolved of all blame by plod (eventually), and I actually
sold the car and went back to a TZR125 for a while, as I felt too vulnerable
in a car for a while after that.

 

Was he the one that slashed your back tyre in revenge?

I slow down whenever my 'radar' picks up abnormal pavement behaviour. It's
amazing how the incidence of people blithely walking out has increased
since the advent of mobile phones.
