One in eight bikers has been involved in an accident in the last month.
    Yea right

    Lies, damn lies, and statistics.

"Nine per cent of bikers admit to speeding at more than 10mph over the
    limit."

The other 91% wouldn't be seen dead going so slowly.

talking of "been seen dead" - you've got to watch where you're going.

Nasty accident just up the road from me this morning, which I saw the
aftermath of on my way back from Waitrose - some knob on a GSXR600
must have been seriously hareing it down the road (a 30 zone), and
had shoved it up the back end of a Yaris (oh, the irony).

Massive v-shaped dent in the rear end of the car, bike looked totally
trashed and 3 ambulances called to the scene. Didn't look too clever.

Then again, I've no idea who it was, so **** the clumsy (possibly
    dead) ****.

Was that a cut and paste? If so, the spelling it truly interesting.

If not, go to your room.

The Guardian last Wednesday had an article about motorcyclists.

    http://tinyurl.com/3afgho7

A sentence in the first paragraph read, "Judging relative speed isn't
easy, but the bike must have been doing a ton."

If a vehicle overtakes you who in all honesty can determine it's
    *actual* speed (apart from TrafPol)?

In the final paragraph the writer does accept that motorcycling is
becoming safer and campaigns like BikeSafe will be received better than
    'more bossy roadsigns'.

  20. 39,000 broken bones in the last month, but only 21,000 serious
injuries in the whole of last year?

I checked the stats for 2008:

    motorcyclingstats2009.pdf)

Only 18,881 total accidents according to that.

**** me this reporter is dogshit. I'm very tempted to email her editor
    and complain.
