I know it sounds harsh, but I think blame will fall with Mrs Eddie, failure
to stay a distance behind vehicles where you can't stop is normally viewed
badly... and as she only hit furniture it may be best to just put hand up
    and take the hit ???

of their way in a hurry."

Says "pulled out into her lane " ??

    You're so special, Bruce.

Read it again. The Merc pulled into lane 2 to avoid the rapidly
    slowing trucks.

Engine bars, I've always called them roll cages since the days of those
fucking huge chrome things you used to find on FS1Es, Superdreams and
    RDs

To be fair, that was in my second (fuller) description, which Bruce had
    obviously missed.

However... Mrs Eddie has corrected my memory of events, and reckons the
Merc was already in lane 2, and braked and moved further right when the
lorries started coming across. So, she's happy to hold her hand up and
say she probably was too close, although the Merc driver didn't seem to
think that when we were talking to him afterwards.

I don't suppose there are many people here who could say they've never
been too close to the vehicle in front.

I think what has happened here, is that I have not read the full (getting
longer thread) , as that is not in the original post, ok, maybe I can read
between the lines (pun totally intended), but then that would be wrong :p

I wonder if she was using both brakes or if she had been taught the silly
nonsense of not using the rear ?.
