    Lane 3, M4 this evening.

    Cabbages.

    Lots of them...

Fortunately mostly crushed so I only had to countersteer around two.

Nearly run over a tortoise last week. Where it come from Ged only
knows, but walking(very slowly) across the road it was. Also came close
to fox hunting Wednesday night when a fox cub dashed out across the road.

Hmmm, has anyone placed a contract with the Woodland Alliance?

Could you pop back and have a look at it please? If he's got a small
hole in the shell (bottom RHS, IIRC) [1], it's mine. So could you look
after him and I'll collect. We lost him in 1983.

[1] No, I (nor my family) didn't drill the hole in its shell. It was
like that when we were given the beast.

I tipped the tail of a full grown one on the way back from the Longest Day
    soiree. Lovely brush on it.
    Good acceleration too.

If there were ever a prize for 'odd things found on a motorway', this
would have to be a contender:

Was it Windy that managed to distribute her underwear along a
    motorway?

That was Trevellian a few months ago. Forgot to zip up his rucksack.
    All apparently clean as well.

That's a nasty way to attach a tether, you know.

People don't actually realise that it does cause suffering to the
animal, when you drill a hole in its shell. It's akin to drilling a
    hole in your body.

  15. I recall seeing a couple of fat burds chasing all over 3 lanes of the
M25 trying to retrieve their gussets that had been blown everywhere when
a suitcase opened on their roofrack... laughed like a drain, I did.
