    Me neither.

I'd agree you're superior to some things. Mind you I'm struggling to
    think what you're superior to.

I saw a biker this morning with one of those fuzhats things over his
helmet - was tempted to run out into the traffic and push him off.

I commute a 120mile round trip (when I'm working out of my office). I
'sold' my parking space at work and in any case the traffic situation is
such that a bike gives me a reliable journey time of 1 hour, a car a
variable journey time of 1 hour to 2 hours.

I now only use my car to drive to the airport and then only if it's an
    overnight trip.

Well, I ride a BMW K with an RT fairing and heated grips. I have decent
(cheaply bought, natch) kit that means it's rare water gets let through.
Unfortunately a downside of this is that urine and sweat doesn't get let
out but we all have our crosses to bear.

    Oh ****, that's ghastly.

It pains me to say it but I did once see a courier with a frog face one
    on once. Truly fucking horrible.

This is where I think that your permanent rant-ette is not only
    stupid, but factually wrong.

For the record I've ridden through the winter every year since I've
owned a bike, because the bike was always my transport to work.

I never wave at anyone, unless I know them. Why would I? "Biker
    lifestyle"? Don't make me laugh.

So you associate "not waving" with newbies, BABs and SOFTies (whatever
they are). Why are you so down on these groups? Why do you care?
Why does it matter if anyone waves at you?

    it's a fucking joke.
this was a Courier Systems BMW R1150R - he had a fucking leopard head
    on.

Thankfully, checking the fuzhats.com website - they've ceased trading
    - huzzah!

Damnit - they're being sold by some Krauts now instead :-/

    A good question.

I was nodded and waved at a good many times yesterday by other bikers.
Is it 'rude' to not acknowledge? Why do bikers do this - is it a
'fellowship' thing - kindred spirits and all that stuff? Seems like a
    nice friendly gesture anyway.

it's fun to give them the finger in return, and then watch them
wobbling all over the place in impotent rage, in your mirror...

OK if you're on a dual carriagway - but a pukka RTB might turn around
    and give chase :(

What would be nice and friendly is if they could not sit blocking my filter
lines and if they could park considerately in bike bays.

Less nodding and waving, more getting with the program.

Blimey, they always had creaky 850s when I worked there. Issuing leopard

    Shocking.

I've seen "ears" months ago. I don't think they hibernate.
No, it fucking well isn't. The only reason I'd ever consider it would
be to give the impression I ride like Berry while I can actually ride
like Rossi. Now, as I can't actually ride like Rossi I can't see those
    ears coming anytime soon.

might have been an 850 - didn't check - I'd forgotten they actually
did 850s. I just meant it was an R.

Same here. These were filthy dirty as well.

After wearing some a few years back for a day and feeling like a
complete ****, I took them off.

The difference between seeing them in a shop, thinking they're a good
idea, and actually wearing them is frankly astounding. I've never felt
    such a ****. Honestly.
