It's very *slightly* annoying cos we've got nowhere to put the courtesy
car, and Rachel's music book was in the back with 5 years of annotations.

Bet she's pissed about the missing book. That was prolly worth more
than the car, at least in a personal sense.

It was a Metro - the water in the radiator was worth more than the car.
    Fun little buggies though.

    In
    Bad show.
Heh, only car I ever had nicked off me was a H reg Rover Metro. It'd been
sitting in the driveway for about 2 years, untouched and unloved, one of
those bits of driveway furniture that you can't actually see after a while,
had its own personal SEP field and everything. Was only when I parked
another car where the Metro was meant to be I noticed the fsking thing had
    been nicked.

Good fun in the plod shop though..

Me - "I'd like to report my car stolen"
PC - "ok, when was it stolen?"
Me - "er, in the last few weeks??"
PC - "riiiight, and what's the registration number?"
Me - "Oh, that's a good one, er, it's a H reg blue Rover Metro"
PC - "we need a little bit more than that, Sir"
    Me - "Er.. <rings mate who remembers such things> H??? ???"
PC - "Ah, right, ok, so where was it stolen from"
    Me - "My path"
    PC - "when exactly?"
Me - "not got a clue really, only noticed it was gone when I managed to park
a car where it should be"
PC - "er, take a seat, Sir, I'll just do a search for you" <looks at me like
    I'm deranged>
PC - "ah, good news, Sir, we've found your car, and it seems ok"
Me - "Excellent, and unusually quick too, I'm impressed"
PC - "Well, we've been chasing it on a nightly basis round Cantril Farm [1]
    for the last fortnight"
Me - "ah, well, you could have rung and said something?"
PC - "er.... anyway, the car is <insert address> and I believe it only needs
a couple of tyres, you're free to go and pick it up"

went to the address given to me, to see a recovery truck removing a burnt
out Metro shell from the scorched tarmac by attaching a BIG chain to it and
dragging it until it moved, rolling it onto its roof, then hoisting it onto
    the back.

They're still trying to get £150 out of me for "removing burnt out motor
    vehicle from public highway"..

[1] Cantril Farm - mega shithole area of Liverpool, and I mean it's a proper
fuckin dump. Not just some Southerner that's never been here's mental image
of this great city, it's like Stoke Newington without the style.

Maybe these people know something we don't? The one that was nicked was my
mother's replacement for one she had nicked IYSWIM

    Sprint had been nicked.
